I recently downloaded The Longest yard 2005.avi of a P2P Network, i try play the file using windows media player 10 but it says certain codecs could not be found which are needed to play the file. I've looked everywhere and downloaded a file from www.free-codecs.com which was said to have all the codecs needed but still no look. Can anyone help me at all, and remember the file is AVI. at the moment.
    Thank you

avi is a container, it can contain lots of different stuff. Try something like GSpot to detect what streams it contains, then grab decoders for them. Most of the time though if it is an avi then it uses XviD for video and mp3 or AC3 for audio.
