as for any channels missing try this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/667986 ........................and for null modem cables im not sure exactly how they are wired but they aren`t wired in a mirror fashion that would just be an rs232 serial cable null modem cables wired something like pin 1 to pin 5 at the other end and so on someone like scouser or celtic71 would be more of a help on those

The simple three wire connection will do.

I noticed earlier on that Film 4 and + 1 , also The Ad Ch seem to be dodgy , simply delete them and do a rescan and they will come in at the end of your channel list or do a manual scan on 355500

A few kids ones changed, and I think 1 or 2 music ones. I scanned on a dbox2 and they come in at the end. Also the adult channel was a blank screen when it came in, I know there was nothing wrong with the setup I have, sometimes it just is blank for no reason. So if you scan and see nothing do not waste time messing about trying to fix it, cause it is probably not broken.

The top of the D9s should have numbers. Make PIN 1 to PIN 1 to act as a ground and cross PIN 2 to PIN 3.

Regards the blank channels lads looks like a CC problem. Or if not will have a look later but usually worth waiting for a day or two.

so thats pin a one end to pin a other end,and pin b to pin c other end, these connectors have no numbers,we just use them at work,so i was going to wire them for the starview.

Thats correct and easy enough to do. I recommend soldering rather than crimping though.

As you are using an 8 wire cable you might as well fully load it. Just use the chart below to see the pin assigments:

    1 1 (GND)
    2 3 (CTS+ : RTS+)
    3 2 (RTS+ : CTS+)
    4 8 (RXD+ : TXD+)
    5 9 (RXD- : TXD-)
    6 7 (CTS- : RTS-)
    7 6 (RTS- : CTS-)
    8 4 (TXD+ : RXD+)
    9 5 (TXD- : RXD-)

But if you just what to use the main three cores follow this chart:

    2 3 Rx Tx
    3 2 Tx Rx
    5 5 Signal ground
