yo dont make me power UP! on here What the hek are you talking about If people dont like Dbz no more why would there be names in forums like mines and MILLIONS! of others ? . You can do a search on the net and still find alot of sites with millions of fans . The way I see it is Dbz is probly the most popular anime import in the U.S like pokemon(which is still here) it lasted a long ass time it debut here in like 1995 and lasted until 2003 and all good thangs come to and end If I wasnt mistaken so what Fate are you talkin about ? if it suffered a bad fate then you wouldnt see all these games be made right ? . It still comes on , not as much but thats my point. fans love it to death and even they choose to Remake DBZ the fanbase is so big that it would sell , let say they took they whole series and did it in C.G um im for damn sure it would be watch by millions or if just sold in DvD ,Blue Ray ,HD DVD what ever it would sell . The bottom line is the story line is so complex that it could be redone and if we want to get into Fate at least Dbz is puttin out more games then Street Fighter lol whats so bad is Street Fighter is a game that started it all oh and any dbz game out! is better then that final bout sh*t it sucked !. I 'm not tryin to flame just dont not diss my show and lable it as Fate cause it had a great run . So this is why I believe another FF7 can be done , it will sell if they look like they did on Final Fantasy A.C but keep the same old school game play i'd be fine

lol i knew some DBZ fans were gonna rant.... cuz i forgot to say that is my fav anime of all time im just using the games as an example im not even talking about the show at all. Its all about the games here. Cuz seriously DBZ game sales are weak compared to b4. Not alot of ppl bought the recently released Super DBZ did they???

The main thing i was trying to focus on was the hype of the games. No magazine is hypin(is that a word?) about any future releases of DBZ anymore correct??? Cuz so many has been out and the only good ones were Budoki 2&3. And ofcourse DBZ fighters are comin out more than Street fighter and that is the problem. In the past 5 or 6 years too many DBZ games are out so the hype dissappeared. Im saying that if FF7 keeps coming out with weak new spin offs back to back it will totally kill the hype of the original FF7.

So dont trip i aint even talkin about the show i still watch it on demand the andriods episode lol.

yeah lol or course I was gone rant not flame though but you have a point I think alot of people would say budokai 3 was the best I still like 1 and 2 just for fans sake but they got bad reviews I still got tired of people hatin on dbz games when infact they have did them the best they could . I mean come on now its hard! to make a dbz game you have to look at the facts that first , fly, teleport, they fight in the air , and on the ground . Hell thats what people need to realize . I will never criticize atari because they made the best dbz attempt ever its identical to the show and looks like im watchin it on cartoon network . I just think that alot of people give them a bad rap because they dont know how to play that faced pace style that is Dbz.. So they bash it . I belive its for certain people . I also think if maybe all the critics would stop bashin the best atempt lol and hell go to school and make a better one then they would be gettin some were . I didnt even play Super Dbz , just wasnt feelin it but ff7 has a huge fan base . I see your point as they could make it stale but if you count all the threads and other websites fan forums its bound to have success

Yea budokai 3 is the best its fast and the fighting is just like the anime. Atari has DBZ mastered. The PSP version was sick too. But you have to admit all the other ones werent as good. Super DBZ sucks to be honest well in my opinion anyways. Same engine as Street Fighter but still DBZ isnt meant to be like that. Tenkaichi and Budokai does it best. Those are the ones i will stick with from now on. Tenkaichi 3 comin soon by the way cant wait.

So anyways to stick with the topic hopefully the PS1 emulator will come out on the PSP and FF7 will be available. That would be sick.

I know nothing about Crisis Core on the PSP. Is it rpg? If so i hope the materia system is used cuz i miss it. Summoning is cool. Bahamut Zero!!!!!

of course a remake will make tons of fans sour. that's because there's 1-47 specific details about the game that makes it special to each individual. but as long as squarEnix has great ideas to make real improvements on the gameplay, i dont think many fans will be fiercely upset. i know that if they took out the materia system, SE would have 50kabillion zombie monsters at their door. each one claiming to have a Buster Sword (or Masamune) with a Master KOTR and Bahamut Zero summon materia, both with quad magic materia and MP/HP absorb, all equipped while riding a chariot being towed by diamond, emerald, and ruby weapon(s).

but seriously, the money it would cost them to make this game is quite a bit. and pasting the FF7 name to everything (Dirge of Cerberus, CrisisCore, Advent Children, Chocobo Lovelife, Chronicles of Ragnarok, and Masamune Quarterly) can get overwhelming to the fans, but that's just it. most of that stuff is some type of fan service. they're actually taking risks to see if they can make money on the FF7 name. Advent children worked out great. (prob'ly better than they expected, although i think it would have been nice for it to have been a game, but whatever). remaking FF7 would be a risk, but i guarantee you it's one that would pay off tenfold. (i think PS3 sales would explode too)

i think that i mentioned this before, for them to do the remake and also on the blu-ray disc, have the 'original' included as playable as well. that way fans can get that good 'old school' feel going. honestly, SE doesnt even have to remake it for me. just put it all on one Disc. that's a rumor that i heard about 3-4 years ago. they were supposedly putting 1-6 on a PS2 dvd, and 7-9 on another. or maybe i dreamed it up. but either way a remake will definitely make people happy.

I don't know, but the evidence of a remake is just TOO MUCH. I mean look, we see advent children, then were getting crisis core on psp, then they got On The Way To A Smile, the book that explains alot of final fantasy VII loose-ends. They also got Before Crisis in Japan, a cool cell phone game having to do with turks. There really just pumping us up to give it to us again. Who agrees?

i agree, but i'm hoping that Chocobo Lovelife, Chronicles of Ragnarok, and Masamune Quarterly will show up first though.

@ ChrisCahn , Yo man I didnt know you was a fan like that soo my bad for tranformin like that lmao you were just talkin about the bad games they made but you should check out my page you may like it since you are a fan lmao.
I did love budokai 3 and love the system but also others like the style of tenkaichi so maybe they should just Stick! to those since they give the fans the best of both worlds . I guess they brought out Super Dbz for the fans who complained and are less stilled since it was easier to do the moves.
So back to the topic . Well I think you are right again ,I think FF7 could be remade but it could also be remade wrong too . They kinda are milkin it too much, but I think the way they can stale it is by brangin out all these damn games before 7 and in between or this and that lol just bring the damn thang out! people are gone hate it if they just dont get it over with . I just thought of this ,yo Chris thats a good idea a remake on the psp that way they wont have to change alot of sh*t

@SuperXL LOl yeah you are right it would cost alot to remake it and I'd be very pissed if the materia system is changed just keep it the same , also the MUSIC<--- that sh*t has to be left alone its one of the reasons I fell inlove with the game so I thank the only thang they should touch is the graphics maybe add a hidden new Weapon lol ONXY or some sh*t but I just would love to see them look like they did in A.C

now for the music, you know they're gonna update it. like how they took the Sephiroth theme song and remixed it. i think Nobuo was jammin that one with the Black Mages. gotta go listen to the AC soundtrack now.

even though Dirge of Cerberus was total sh*t, there will be a FF7 remake. It's not if, but when. There's far to much $$$ in it for Square to ignore a remake.
First month sales of FF7? i guarantee you they'd sell atleast 180,000 copies in Japan. Another 200,000 easy in the U.S. & another 120,000 in Canada/Europe/S. America. Another 50,000+ guaranteed in AUS & Kiwi country.
    Add those numbers up.
That's over half a million in sales.
If Squeenix made $5 profit off each sale, after all expenses/advertising, thats $2.75 million in profit.
Any VG executive who would NOT do a remake is stupid. The $$$ gives you the answer.

yeah I think if they made it for the psp or ps3 it would sell oh @SuperXL yo I did like the A.C music it was very tight and

@ Xhardc0re , one hell of a point lol money does talk and you are right they would be dumb not too remake somethin that is in high demand instead of beatin around the bush with spin offs If I was square I'd remake FF7 for either the psp or ps3 then I would make a advent children game since it does tell you the story between 7 and 8 . maybe add different endings you can get like 4 or 5 then I would be done with it

    @blacGoku

you said "I would make a advent children game since it does tell you the story between 7 and 8"

what are you talking about?? 7 and 8 what?? not final fantasy right. because you know that the only true sequel to any FF game was 10-2 or X-2 or whatever you wanna call it. none of the characters returned from FF7 to FF8. and the storyline was totally not the same either. just clarify that for me please.

nooo lol not that I was talkin about what happen after 7 in between that time untill 8 came out , It told the story after the game so really what im sayin is A.C was X-2 for FF7 but it was a movie instead of a game

As for the music, this is what i predict

    Fighting-The Black Mages

    Intro-Advent Children

Prelude- Final Fantasy Vocal Collection VOL.1 (pm me for it)

One Winged angel- similar to that in advent children but with original lyrics

    Motorcycle chase- Advent Children

All others that are like Aeris' Theme, Tifa's theme will be stait from Final Fantasy VII Piano Colletion (pm me for it)

As for the game being too expensive to make, think about it. Crappy games cost money too, like the video game adaptment of Open Season. Money is no object for Square-Enix and they have proved it over the years.

A FF 7 remake would be good but if they remove stuff and remake it like the WA1 remake I would avoid it since they change to much

    laws of good remakes

    1.nothing removed.
2.rebalaceing can be tricky but can be ok.
3.Voice acting ok if done with effort.
    4.New graphics engine a must.
5.New combat system only if the old one is kept.

    "laws of good remakes

3.Voice acting ok if done with effort.
    4.New graphics engine a must.
5.New combat system only if the old one is kept."

So let's look at what we WILL have:

1.Something will unavoidably be removed. This happens not only during remakes, but even during translations. What happened when Square released FFVII to the U.S.? They cut out a ton of crap (anyone upset that we can't get Aeris back?), and added "extra" features to try and make up for it... i.e. the Weapons. This will invariably happen again with the new remake, regardless of how much time and/or money they spend on it. Its the way of the video game world.

2.Rebalancing. What does that even mean? Do you mean adding in a difficulty system, something that makes bosses harder as your characters become higher levels? This would be necessary in the remake (I'd say a good 75% of all the people who by FFVII would have already played it and therefore find the game retardedly simple), but we would run into te problem once again of having "die-hard" FFVII fans complaining about tampering with the original goodness.

3.Voice acting. This is also now necessary in any RPG to make it to a broad crowd. I'm sure you could all come up with some examples of recent games that haven't had voices to me, but thats just it; I haven't heard of them. Therefore, most of the worlds population won't have heard of it either. FFVII could get away with not having voices because of its already enormous fan base, but Square, being smart business men, would probably be looking to satisfy the greater consumer pool.

    4. New graphics engine: this is why we all want the game to be remade. Every one of us wants to see Cloud chopping shit up and Tifa bouncing around in high-def; don't lie to yourselves, its true. But the original game being what it was, this would be extremely difficult to do without starting from scratch. The screen positions and shots chosen for the game originally were created with and for the available graphics of the time. Each shot was strategically used to best show the game with the limited capabilities of the time. Using these shots again today would be pointless because of the staggering increase in graphic technology. So why not just make new shots? Because that would be changing the entire game from an artistic stand point. Think of the creators of the game... they came up with all of those shots and all of those scenarios for the game. This makes the game their work of art, and to remake that (and therefore change it) would be like taking Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and sending it through Photoshop. And then putting it onto an HD disc and distributing it to millions of people. But I'm getting side-tracked.

5.New combat system only if the old one is kept. This sentence doesn't make any sense. But if they did change anything about the combat system, I for one would be one of the kabillion zombies pounding on Square's door in search of blood (and brains). The battle system was part of what made FFVII such a cool game to play, and is also something that would invariably be tweeked if they were to remake the game.

Well, to recap, I'll offer this thought. Has any company ever remade one of its games? Has this ever been done before? Other than Madden games and sports games, etc. If any of you think up of an instance when its been done I'd love to hear about it. So not only would it be extremely challenging and extremely risky, but it would be the first time (if I'm right) that anyone had ever attempted anything like that. And that's a pretty intimidating feat by itself.

P.S. Sorry about the lengthy reply, but I only post once a week or something so I hope its not too spammy. Not like the mystery meat though >.<

translation and script will change I forgot to add that but removing equipment items character and summons is a NO NO....they removed some of these from the WA1 remake...

re balancing means they tweak the weapons to make them more "fair" look at Shining Force GBA remake they re tweaked things to make thing weaker and sometimes stronger than the game the remake is from, tweaking stats and weapons and such is ok just don't go over board and if you want the game to be easier make a easy mode don't ruin the remake by making it easy....

Voice acting is not necessary and is necessary is leavening the japaanse voice track in since their actors are 10 to 1 ahell of alot better than ours.

New graphics is the 2nd reason for the remake is 1frist reason is always sellabilty

New combat system is the old is kept, rather simple if they go overboard to remake the battle system at least leave the old system in so you can have a option to play it,do you really want to play FF7 with FF12s poorly thought out combat system?
Bascily give gamers options and just maybe it will enhance replay thus making the game sell better.

    Remakes
Shining Force GBA,Wild Arms 1,Phansty Star 1,2,4(whenever they decide and release them in the states...)
Final Fantasy 3 is getting a remake for the DS,FF1 and 2 got remakes (FF1 lost a few secrets it had).

I just hate it when they go out of their way to change things and leave you with no options to change it more like the first one.

    *L* I like spam :p

I don't know, ill take the remake anyway. Because i wont be comparing it to the old game piece by piece meticulously, thats a little exaggerated all it's own. But i will love the fact that we got it updated nonetheless. Plus you gotta admit that somethings were completely un necessary.

I just hope they keep the televised Shin-Ra tv march, i loved that.

So you are sayign if they remove summons and spells water down the gameplay enhance the story some you wont be pissed?

they did that to the Lunar remakes on the PSX.....I was quite pised and infuriated that they took a great game and pissed on its great gameplay elements the story is about the only thing that was done good the rest of it left a very bitter taste in my mouth there is no need to change it to the point that it becomes a wanna be version of itself.

Lunar 1 and 2 on the Sega CD had a almost RTS like battle field but battles went quickly so it begin RTS like was not a issue plus is had simi smart AI that could do battles for you if you were no good add to it killer weapons and a few neat and madly powerful spells and they just riped them out tossed a new coat of paint and tweaked the story the new story in Lunar 1 is not great enough to fix all the issues it has and frankly the story and settings on the sega CD game felt more intact...what I am trying to say is if you don't hold them to make a descent game they skip putting effort into it and make it crappy.

If you have not noticed I am a game fanboy not a Square/Game arts/corporate dev/dev fanboy I am rather tired of seeing good and ok devs becoming fat lazy and fcking pompous and stop puting effort into the games they make....

Square has gotten very fat very lazy and very fcking pompous they have started to "brand wagon" their games making a ton of crappy knock offs most of the top titles have been iffy KH 1 and DQ8 being good but missing something (and yes DQ8 is not perfect but its as close as I have seen to a true old school RPG in almost 6 years).

Unlike most people and some review sites I ahve not lowered my expectations of quality in games, all games want to be a 10 but reality bring im down a level

    DQ8
Paceing is all off its to quick -0.5
Stat changing stuff in battles dosent work right-0.5
Towns have a bad house/room to person ratio 1.0

Alchemy pot could have more depth
Map could be easier to to use and see where you are

I could go on but in the end the game is a 7-8.5 very above average but still not quite the 9-11 like in the 90's

I might be to ahrd on FPS's and RPGs I give metroid prime 1 and 2 a 7 ,1 annoys me with the weapon changes from the 2D and lack of full button mapping 2 has overly small rooms/areas that can be overly complex and lacks full button mapping *L* sorry any FPS not to haev the mandatory button config gets a 1-2 point strike :p

ggaaa I am long winded ><
