    New Guy here so 1st i would like to say HELLO to everyone.
    I am burning my DVD's using Nero 6 Ultra but have found that on playback the movie is 'jumpy', like badly made stop motion animation. Occasionally i also get audio out of sync with video. Can anyone help me rectify these problems or recommend some software that will help or replace nero.

    Hello.

    The three most common causes are:

    1. Using poor quality media. Recommended media is that made by Taiyo Yuden (available online), Verbatim, and Fuji and Sony disks labeled as Made in Japan (usually by Taiyo Yuden).

    2. Burning too fast. Recommended burn speeds shouldn't exceed half the rated speed of the media. Many of us burn everything at 4X.

    3. Out of date burner firmware. The most recent firmwares are available at your vendor's web site or at this firmware database:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

    If you converted AVIs/divX files to DVD compliant files, the software can sometimes be the culprit for audio sync problems along with the above.

    If you post your Nero 6 history log, more help can be forthcoming. The log is in this path:

    [bold]C:\ > Program Files > Ahead > Nero > NeroHistory[/bold]

    The log is divided into sections, one for each of the last several attempted burns. Each section begins thusly:

    [bold]====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======
    Your name

    Your program serial number

    Windows XP 5.1
    IA32
    WinAspi: -
    ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 [/bold]

    [bold]Be sute to delete your program serial number and name before posting. Post only the section that deals with the burn of interest.[/bold]
