    hello BIGnewB,

first off, i would recommend another firewall !! (i never liked sygate, poor quality)
ok, question: are you behind a router ( often a by your ISP provided modem is also a router ) , if so, you dont need a firewall (router is a hardware firewall)!!

Every firewall will, with standard settings, allow internet acces (port 80 is open by default)
so if you are having problems accessing the internet, i would do a full antivirus/antispyware deepscan, you can find a good scanner @

hope this helps, if this doesn't work check back here and we'll see what we can do :)

plus i think its an internal problem not a firewall.because i allow all on sygate and i have windows firewall turned off so it must be internal.i will get a hijackthis log off my computer and put on floppy so i can go to frends house and show it to you.

Heres what you can do to check if its the firewall, boot into safe mode with networking (tap f8 as the comp boots).

now i bet the net will work ;)

if not then we'll have to sort it.

thats what you do for step 1.
