OK I'll try to make this as organized as possible. I have done a ton of google searching and have hit on this website often, unfortunately with no real luck in fixing my problem. System Specs: WinXP NForce2 Board 48x Burner 16x DVD Problem: I have a dual drive enclosure which uses a bridgeboard (Oxford 911 chipset) to convert IDE to Firewire. I would like to use my burner and my DVD drive. The DVD Drive works fine in the enclosure, however when I try to burn a CD I get errors and the disk is then also bad Errors: at 7% "Invalid Block Address" Then eventually "Cannot Complete EndTrack" What I have tried and What it got me: DVD Master / CDRW Slave: Both drives show up, DVDs play, Encounter errors while burning though I can read from CDs in the drive. CDRW Master / DVD Slave: Nothing works, can't even eject the trays. DVD Alone: Works Fine. CDRW Alone: Does not work at all, can't even eject the tray. Update Nero: Simulate actually completes but buring a disk comes up with same errors. Different Brand 48x CDRW: Same issues. Plextor 12x: Everything works fine, SOMETIMES. I have heard of registry entries to mess with but can't find the threads that talk about them. Any Help?
hi ok i can see you have trouble and i am abit confused? so you are running 2 drives via a sort of pc-card instead of running as usaul on eide slots? does this card actually fit in the eide slot? are you copying disc to disc? or disc to hd image then burn back to cdr? from what you say it seems a transfer problem are you burning to fast? i have not heard of a pc-card as yours before? i have used a pci slot card to add 4 more drives and found it excellant! any more info would be great!
PS just noticed nforse chipset is it the A7N8x? i read somewhere about issues with that but for the life of me cant remember what was said? i have A7V8x... here is a site i use very much for expert tech stuff when i overclock! its http://www.overclockers.com got to your motherboard section and jion and post problem! if the a7n8x its packed of owners using this mobo! and as they clock to the max they know there stuff! more info on this card would be good!
No it's not a card its an external enclosure. That uses an adapter to convert the IDE to firwire then out to the computer. http://fwdepot.com/thestore/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=33 The drives work fine when attached to the motherboard via the IDE controller. I don't overclock so that's not the problem.
