I keep readin about updating firmware.. what exactly IS firmware? Is it for my DVD burner or actual DVD media?

Also, I am trying my hand at burning with DVD Decrypter. Trying to burn band of brothers.... i am splitting them, so there will be only 1 episode per disk instead of 2, so i am not making a full disk copy, but rather burning the individual episode and their respective audio tarcks on seperate dvds.

Which mode should I use? The file mode, IFO or the other one? I really dont understand the difference since that guide on doom9 was not really written for beginners, and I have no idea what the hell anything in that guide means.

Can anyone explain the different modes and their purposes?

    Thanks!!

    hi

firmware is for you dvd writer or dvdrom, it fixes bugs and other things like the ability to see more disc types when inserted to the drive.

iso mode makes a complete image of the dvd (1 file) and also file mode makes the full dvd but in files lots of them just like looking at the original...

to split off you dvd use dvd shrink in re-author mode and drag the main film across from left to right pain. then hit backup
