firmware & aspi

    I was just wondering what these two things are and how they affect dvd burning and if they do affect it where can i get them

    firmware relates to the drive itself, it basically tells the drive what it is capable of (that is very basic definition i know). It should be available from the drive manufacture website under typically upgrade or download tab. Or try a hacked firmware which can offer anything from faster rip speeds to dual layer compatibility to region free. Try http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php for hacked firmware

    Note- upgrading firmware with the incorrect firmware may render your drive useless. Allways follow the instructions

    Aspi is how your drive communicates with software( i think). Google for adaptec aspi or Force aspi. Download aspi check and it will tell you if it is installed correctly. From memory it doesnt have a winxp aspi but install anyway
