I'm thinking of getting an Oppo 83 to replace my increasingly problematic Kogan. Being in Australia I have to get a multi-region mod and am wondering if anyone has a URL to a site from which I can download a multi-region firmware fix for this machine.
If worst comes to worst, I'll just import a machine from the States and then buy a $100 hardware fix (which requires opening up machine and replacing cable and chip) but of courser a firmware fix would be the easier way to go.
    Thanks

    Hi David
Oppo sadly aren't allowed to help under the rules which the Hollywood film industry has forced onto Blu ray manufacturers, to prevent Australians and other undesirable aliens getting hold of potentially dangerous US product (such as my copy of 'The African Queen' which arrived the other day, and my deluxe Warners set of 'The Wizard of Oz').
You can imagine what might happen if that sort of material ended up in the wrong hands!
Anyway, diligent research (including some useful into from Oppo) now shows me that I'll have to pursue a hardware mod route rather than the easier (and potentially free) firmware solution.
Cheers and thanks anyway for the thought.
