i recently bought an hp 1040r wich has mh21 firmware and i want to change the booktype. i know that the drive is made by lite-on (even says lite-on on the charger) does any one know of any compatible firmware or a place i can look (also the drive is a lightscribe) any other details needed just ask. thanks in advance
If your drive is indeed lite-on, imgburn has a bitsetting/booktyping feature built in. Though I read recently (today) that bitsetting liteys can be risky and COULD damage the writer/burner. Please dont quote me. It could have been someone who didnt know what they were talking about. There is also a litey utility floating around on Afterdawn. GOOGLE "settings utility for lite-on drives."
