So I got an R4 a few months ago and I've decided I want to use some Action Replay codes on it. I've downloaded the latest firmware; v1.18 but I'm having porblems. First of all I think the R4 is a fake.. Therefore I have no idea which firmware it needs, although it ran fine on WOOD. Since replacing the WOOD with the R4 v1.18 kernel, I've had this problem on the menu: I can't use the cheats I've put onto it or anything, even when using this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/505999 I really need some help. I'm not sure what to do with the firmware so I can use the cheats..
I didn't receive packaging with it; my relative bought it overseas which is another reason I believe it's counterfeit.

Ok; I've got wood but I'm not sure if it's the newest one, I was pretty sure it was updated but I tried some cheats and nothing happened. Maybe it's not vers. 1.20?
