firmware question

    Okay, my computer found a new hardware installed onto the computer. my question is that, how can i tell which type of firmware files i need to install the harddrive?

    all i is its gatway and i dont know what kind it is.

    that amkes no sense to me at all....

    have you recently put a new hard drive in your computer? if so you dont need any firmaware or anything windows installs hard drive automatically.

    post back and make some sense please

    Yeah, don't get confused out there. Firmware updates for hard drives are very rare...and are not the same as drivers to install for hardware.

    New hardware doesn't just show up. If it does, then a device that was already installed is having driver problems. Check the Device Manager to see which one.
