The Pioneer Europe site has just today put up a firmware update for the DVR-110 drive. Anyone try it out yet?

Any reason I shouldn't be the first?

Went ahead and did it. Works great. Even burns on CMC media now.

Can someone explain how to flash the firmware on this drive.

I have searched the internet and cannot find any clear instructions on what program to use i.e. flash tool etc etc.

I am new to pioneer drives be gentle.

There's no trick to it, that I'm aware of. Just download the file and run it, it's all automatic. I don't know if it's up on the PioneerUSA site yet, you will probably have to get it from Pioneer Europe.

Does your DVR-110 burn DVD Ram disks, and where can I get one? I'm in the US.

    Hey guys,
I just bought a Pioneer DVR-110D last week. I noticed that there is a new firmware update from Sept 30th on the European website for firmware update 1.22. On the Japan and Australia sites there is update 1.17. I can't find any firmware updates on the US site. Are there any risks in installing a firmware update from another country's website? Are the firmware updates different for different countries or is it just the exact same file?

Also, has anyone tried update 1.22 yet? There isn't a list/description of changes. Thanks.

    Jesse.

Well, I went and did it; messed with a good thing. I had the prior firmware, 1.17, which seemed to work great. I went and put the new one on my drive, 1.22, and now it won't write to some of the cheap discs I was using [up] before. The same discs wouldn't work under the original firmware. Anyone else have the same problem?

Any way to flash to an earlier firmware?

EDIT: I got it off the Pioneer Europe site. Could that have been a problem?
