Usually software will show you your drive info including firmware. Nero Infotool should show you what you have. All you need is your drive's model and firmware version.

This should be for your drive http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...product=385154&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-25797-1

    But lets be sure..
Go to your my computer icon and right click on it
    Select properties
Click on Hardware tab at top
    Click on device manager
Click on little + sign beside DVD/CD Rom Drives

That should list the name and model of your drive

If it shows a Toshiba SD-R6252 then the link I provided above is your firmware..

OK here is your drives Firmware
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...on.jsp?locBasepartNum=ob-21637-1&lang=English

    How old is your drive?

Also do as I stated above but this time double click on your drive and click on the "Details" tab.. There after it list's the make and model of your drive should be some letters and/or numbers? That is your firmware. What does yours have listed there? The newest one for your drive is 1.8f so if the number is less than that you want to go ahead and flash your drive with the newer firmware..

    Cheers :)

    YES!!

Please don't multipost that is highly frowned upon here and it is also against the rules.

Let me know how that firmware upgrade goes for you..

    Later :)

    [bold]Edit:[/bold]
Disregard my statement about multi posting. Well sort of anyway I am not sure you multi posted at all they seem to be two different questions to me but a moderator would have to decide for sure, but they don't appear to be the same question to me. So sorry for the multi-posting comment. :) I spoke before I looked at the link that was left by arniebear ;-)
