Hmm... There are a couple of ways.. the "best" depends on what chipset you have. If you are using an Intel chipset for your mainboard, install the Intel Application Accelerator - that will give you lots of info on your IDE channels. Another way might be to check in your BIOS. Many times the firmware revision is displayed after the name of the device.
