It's not adviseable (IE DONT DO IT) to flash your drive with a diff model drives firmware! If there is no update for your drive at the mo, then nowt you can do about it, sorry. **What Model Dell pc do you have? Then I can look into a firmware update further!** Also, Updating firmware on CD drives isn't really necessary as media doesn't differ so much with CDs as it does DVDs. If you want to though here is the latest firmware fo the CD burner. Hope that helps
