Ok. have a Dell XPS-1 with a custom NVIDIA 512M card in it and 2 gig. 3.12 dual or something close. Running Vista.
Anyway, 2 days ago I was playing a variety of shows and movies flawlessly. burned them flawlessy as well. All of a sudden, I can't get it to play normal on my PC. Appear to be ok on DVD (so far).
I took all out all the junk, installed a new Vista codec pack, realized it stinks and reinstalled lastest K-lite pack. Tried a new Divx codec, reinstalled Video drivers, changes a billion other desktop issues but it still won't work right.

Whats it doing? It hesitates every couple seconds in video like someone is continuously hitting the pause button (audio plays fine). media player does work better then classic atm but still not very good (I think it's just adjusting by dropping more frames at longer intervals). So yes I would of wagered quite a bit that its a video codec but unless it's one thats open when I uninstall reinstall k-lite and others, I am wrong.

I also used a couple of well known AV/Malice/SpyWare programs, registry cleaners, and other tools as well as defragged the drives. I plan on messing with memory settings (paging/Virtual etc..) if possible in Vista but next to reinstalling the operating system I'm drawing a blank. accepting any ideas.
