Can anyone recamend or tell me of any First Shooter games that will allow a player to make a custom map within the game.
Well in Half-Life 2, there is a neat little mod called Garys Mod, also known as Gmod. It's recommened for download by steam. Gmod is basically a game itself were you can delete everything, and make a whole map while playing, you use guns and paint objects, and you can place objects, and save the map, and then play it. Also, Half-Life 2 itself is really great good story. You need Counter-Strike SOURCE, and a few other things to run Gmod. Corn
Even though i wont set near a XBOX game ill try it for the PC,But what are the requirements you would need to run Gmod and why do i need a counter strike source?
I don't know why, but it just says it on the website. You need to have these specs to run Half-Life 2, because you play Gmod in Half-Life 2. minimum spec would be a 1.2GHz powered PC with 256MB RAM, Win 98/ME/2000/XP and a DirectX 7 compatible graphics card. But for those who want to see the game running in all its glory, be prepared to spec up to around a 2.4 GHz machine, with 512MB RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a DirectX 9 capable graphics card. EDIT: Here is the link so you can download GMod http://gmod.garry.tv/download.php
People also mod maps, and host them, so you can enjoy maps, and download some modded maps at http://garrysmod.org/downloads/?484619141. Have fun with it : ). Corn EDIT: Here is the filefront Half Life 2 page http://halflife2.filefront.com/ There are many mods available for Half Life 2 at the above link.
I haven't tried it myself, but my friend has, and he said that it has all the game sprites inside. EDIT: And there is rivers and all that stuff inside...
Yeah i saw some previews of GMOD on youtube and im thinking to myself, that looks pretty hard to make,is it?
My friend says you just need to play around with it for a while, then you'll soon be able to do more advanced things in Gary's Mod. Corn
