I have no clue about processors and such, i just know that you need a lot of memory. Here's what i want to do. Mainly, i want to have a computer that surfs the web fast. I have a good internet connection, but this computer now takes a while sometimes. I also like to watch videso and listen to music. I dont do much gaming on here. Would it be good to get something to hook up via hdmi, or is the quality difference between rgb and hdmi not that much different? I dont need anything to look that fancy either. Would it be better for me to build a computer for my needs, or would it be cheaper to buy one. I want a super fast computer. Also, i saw some cheap cases on ebay. Is there a big difference between those and some that are around $100? All help would be appreciated!!!
Its always cheaper to build rather than buy but do you know how to put a pc together? Thers a ton of online guides that can help. Whats your budget, if you want a fast computer with new components go with Intel's i5-i7 range or if you want to keep the costs down the Intel Core 2 Quads still preform very well. Theres a lot of things that can increase the speed of pc's now including SSD, and DDR3 triple chan memory but they can be expensive and may not speed up the pc in the ways you want. So again it comes down to your budget. The more you spend on a case generally the better the ventilation, you also pay for the brushed steel look rather than the cheaper plastic molds. 100 US will buy you a pretty good case.
Well, i had a computer built for me a few years back and it was pretty fast for my needs, but could've been faster. I think i paid around $400 for it. Of course id like to keep it cheap but i could go a little more than that i guess. I plan on buying parts at a time and building it. Does that help out anymore?
And yea, i have found something to help me put a pc together. I know what parts are what, but as far as 2.3 ghz processor vs. another one, i couldnt tell u what is better. Thats y im needing help
It helps a little but can you be more specific about what you will be using the pc for, eg. gaming 40%, video editing/streaming/ 30% and internet surfing 30%. It would also help if you include a specific budget, what is your absolute max? If your going to be building the rig over a long time period will this increase the max limit? Lastly what existing components will you be keeping such as keyboard/mouse, screen, dvd drive etc. This is a pretty good example.. ok i'll try my best. Mainly, i use my computer for surfing the web, so that is my highest priorty. As far as videos go, i just watch them right now, but hoping in time to get a better camcorder and start uploading videos to youtube, so maybe something to help me with editing videos. Im open to any websites for parts. I'd even be open to ebay. If possible (dont laugh) id like to keep the budget below $400. I wont be gaming on there at all. Maybe games on facebook, but im sure any computer can support those. I have no clue about overclocking or crossfire. As far as a screen goes, i have a 37 in lg lcd tv im going to use for my screen. Ill settle for a cheap mouse and keyboard since they wont affect what i want to do with the computer. I will be building pc for use in the usa. Also, the computer can be a little noisy, as long as it isnt extremely loud. Does this clear it up anymore?
Gigabyte M68M-S2P amd quad 630 radeon hd4350 I reuse my 1gb of ram (still using xp) This is the recent computer I built. I got the motherboard/cpu combo on sale for 99.00 dollars, the video card cost 40.00. It's a pretty decent computer for everyday use and it's very fast for video encoding, it can encode a dvd to avi in about 1 hour 15 minutes using the 2 pass mode. It starts up quick and shutsdown quick. No need to spend alot of money to get a fast computer. It replaced my amd4800x2 (which also has the same motherboard), the 4800 was quick also but I needed more speed to encode videos. Many people overlook the AMD cpu's but they are well priced and have always given me great performance.
You don't want an unreliable nforce board. Stick with AMD's own chipsets like the 770 and 785. No games means you don't really need a dedicated card at all, you may as well go with a 785G board like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...32&cm_re=gigabyte_785g-_-13-128-432-_-Product
