So i'm getting ready to flash my 360 but before i brick my xbox, i just wanted to get as much info as possible. I've read a buch of different tutorials and watched a bunch of youtube vids and each one is slightly different. The youtube vids are kinda sketchy. Most of them use a combination of iprep, dosflash and jungleflasher. I've seen some videos and tuts where people are using the ck3 connectivity kit. What exaclty does this do. It says that it is used grabe the keys, but it looks like it's only to power the drive. Is this a necessary piece of hardware, I've read that it's not but you have to use the "drive half open method"... I've seen this referenced to a few times but havent been able to find any explination or tutorial on it. I've read that the only compatible chipsets for the benq drive are VIA and Nforce cipsets... Dont have either of those on any of my systems so i'm going to have to buy a pci sata card. Does anybody have any recommendations on which one is the best for the benq drive? Any other useful links on flashing the benq would be greatly appreciated.
I use DosFlash32 and 360 firmtool. All in all it is about 45 to 60 seconds of work. If you run into trouble let me know and I will walk you through it.
Email me at the address I sent you on the private message and I will forward what I use. Do not post your email address here.
Is it true that using your 360 as the power source gives Microsoft an easier time finding out that you modded the firmware and therefore a better chance of getting banned?
I have flashed close to 40 360 (only one in the area that does it as far as I know) and I have had no problem with it. No ban's yet and I'm going on 2 years.
awesome.....I had just heard that somehow the 360 logs the time you turn on the unit without a valid dvd drive plugged in.
dainger if you use DosFlash32 you don't need a VIA chip set. Any will work but not sure about JungleFlasher as I haven't been able to get it to work on my PC. So if you are willing to use DosFlash32 don't purchase the PCI card.
