I have DVDrs with many 30 minute videos on each disc, but when I tried burning AVIs to one, I could only fit 2. Do I have to convert them to some other file type or something to fit more on?

Which burning program are you using?

If the original movie clips are in avi format, you really don't have to convert them first to mpeg (more conversion, worse quality). Try use DivxToDvd to transcode the avis into DVD compliant format, then burn with something like Nero.
DivxToDvd is a free program. Just keep adding the avis to 'source' and it'll automatically combine and transcode them. If the avis are about 30 minutes each, you should be able to combine about 4 into one movie. But in case you've fitted more than that, Nero would compress the resulting movie before burning. In general, compressing 10-20% won't affect the end quality significantly.
    Happy avi burning!

Thank you very much for the help. Right before I looked at your response I actually downloaded Divx To DVD and hoped that it would work, and now that you say it probably will, I'm worry free. Thanks again!
