Fitting a new Monitor Cable

    Hi I need help because I have a damaged monitor cable. I brought a new cable but the colour codes are different, what do I do. The old cable the 3 main cables: red, blue, grey plus the 6 other colours on the 0101 plug on the monitor. They are: orange,white,red,yellow,grey,black. The new able has the 3 main cable: red, blue, grey plus 7 not 6 other colours. THey are: orange, red, black, yellow, brown, green, white.This the problem because I do not know where the "green & brown cables fit.
    Anyone able to help

    do you have a multimeter or can borrow 1 as i'll try to talk you thru to find out what color does what pins. do you still have the old connector??
