Long story, short question. Just bought a cam-corder, decided I may as well buy a fire wire card and DVD-RW as well. Never had the side off the computer, but heck, with the makers instructions, no problem ! ! ! The RW is a NEC ND-2500, apparently it's OEM, so no instructions and no cables. Can anyone explain in simple terms what I need to do, besides pay some else to fit it Your help would be gratefully apreciated.......Dave.

First dave look for one of the power supplys that are free ( either look at the one thats in your current drive or just look for a plastic fitting with a yellow black and some other wires) and then you need a another IDE cable, and a free IDE channel unless you want to disconnect your old drive and only use the new one, if you decide to use both you will need to jumper the DVD-RW drive as a master and the other drive as a slave.... google for instructions on how to do that.
