fixng or a fresh copy?

    I have this problem, I want to reinstall my windows xp so that it will be as good as new but I don't know whether I should fix it or install a fresh copy, so help me make the right decision.
    My secod problem is on my 2 comp. here I want to install a fresh copy but my installation says that there already is a copy of windows running on it and I don't know what to do shold I or should I not install windows?
    Thanks, also if you have a guide as to how to install a fresh copy, that would be great, I want to be completlu sure that I am doing things right.

    If you want it "as good as new" then you should format the hard drive and install your Windows.

    Go to the hard drive manfacuter (of the brand you have) site and download the latest formatting utility. It should fit on a floppy. Create the floppy and boot from it, then follow the steps. After that, install Windows.
