do you have xp or vista? best off if your have a crossover straight to your computer instead of going through the router, much easier.

i think its the same but crossover is much easier than going through all the router mubmo jumbo speed depends on your dash mostly

Router mumbo jumbo?? What is easier than setting the xbox to DHCP enabled and letting everything connect automatically.. You don't need to mess with your pc settings, you don't need to buy special cables, all you might need to do is make an exception rule in your firewall.

So what you need to do is go into the xbox system settings.. usually on your dash there is a "system" or "settings" submenu.. get in there and look for DCHP=YES and then FTP=on or enabled.. reboot the xbox and read the IP that displays on the dash.
That is the number you need to put into your ftp application...
You can even do this with windows itself..
control panel→network connections→add network place.. enter "xbox:xbox@<xbox ip>
Again you may need to allow an exception in your firewall rules. It is very easy.
FlashFXP is probably one of the hardest ftp clients to set up.. confusing mode submenus and the like. Maybe try one of the small free apps? CuteFTP seems to work very well, my less savvy friends get along with it fine.

Jeez.. theres a lot of BS spouted in the console forums.
