This question is for seamonkey, but if anyone else knows the answer go ahead. I was reading the guides on your website and it says to connect the chip to the flasher, but then at the end it says to install the chip into the xbox. I'm wondering if the flasher is located in the xbox or PC? Also, do i keep it in the xbox when making a backup copy of a game?
wassup.. the flasher is a seperate device.. it is basicly a computer board made for the matrix mod chip.. . you have ot connnect that to your pc's parrallel port (lpt) and flash the matrix mod chip that way.. then once you do that, you need to align the chip onto the xbox' motherboard.. once you do that, your home free.. if you need to flash teh bios ever you can do it within evolution x dashboard (just put the jumpers so your in mode 4)... evolution x is required to make backups, it allows you to run unsigned code (thus playing homebrew apps and games) on the xbox, ftp/network into the xbox, play games directly form harddrive and more.... hope that helps peace seamonkey420
Seamonkey, if I have a chip with the cromwell bios on it and have no intention of backing up my games since I have a friend that does it for me can I just play the backed up games on it without flashing the chip?
i do not believe so.. hold on a sec.... ... nope, taken from: http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/faq.php so you'll need to flash your chip with an xcutioner or evox bios... hope that helps.. peace seamonkey420
