flashfxp

I am transfering files to my xbox via flashfxp and files with long filenames dont transfer. Is this a problem with flashfxp (v3.0) or is the a problem with my xbox (evox v1.8.3935). Thanks, Ryan

 

it has to be less then i think it was 48 charaters for it to transfer to the xbox other wise it wont

 

Get rid of FlashFXP and go to www.download.com and grab a copy of Core FTP light. It's free and works better.

 

do you need to be connected to xbox live

 

no you don't need to be connected to xbox live. Once you mod your xbox you can't go on xbox live without turning off the mod chip and using an original game or you WILL be banned.

 

do i just need a regular ethernet cable or an rj45 like i read?

 

If you are connecting directly into your PC from your xbox you will need a crossover cable. If you have a router and home network set up then a regular CAT-5 is enough but a crossover cable would work as well.

What i noticed with transferring files across to the xbox is flash fxp will not transfer files with ( brackets) in the name, i never used any other programme so im not sure if they will have problems with brackets

 

do they transfer from the xbox with the game or do you put the game in the pc

You need a programme like craxtion to transfer the game from the xbox to your pc, then you can make an iso out of it and burn to disc.
Heres a guide an how to use flashfxp but i suppose you could also follow it for core ftp lite http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/ftpingproblem.htm

 

IS IT TRUE ITS 192.168.0.3 FOR THE XBOX AND 192.168.0.4 FOR THE PC.

What you asked about the IP address...that's not necessarily what your IP address will be. There are a couple of factors that will determine your IP ADDRESS and all pertain to your choice of set up.

Let me clarify. It would depend on...
1 - If you are connected directly to your PC via your XBOX and what you have assigned as Static IPs
2 - If you are using a router for your network and have enabled DHCP
3 - If you are using a router and have assigned Static IPs

 

What is DHCP? Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A TCP/IP protocol that dynamically assigns an IP address to a computer.
What is a Static IP address? A static IP address is fixed, much like a telephone number. If your ISP gives you a static address, you will always use the same address. Servers usually have static addresses, so they can always be found at the same location.
