Well after looking thru here for answers and not really getting the ones i am looking for.. here goes.. I have the Benq 1620 bulk dvdr drive atapi version G7L9 (not sure how old that FW is, anyone know ?) I want to know if I should/could flash it to Benq's latest FW B7V9? would there be any issues at all? is it straight forward? Do I need to go to B 'series FW to burn DL?? Thanks
Are you having media problems? I've got the B7C9 firmware and not a single issue. It allows me to be able to burn at 12x and 16x on sony/verbatim/and maxell +8x media. The way my pc runs like crap, I will avoid the update until I have to.I have yet found a mfg code that it will not burn and I use a lot of different media, but all very good media..
had 1 media problem.. cheap 4x. didnt like it at all.. other then that any other 4x or 8x media is fine. I can even burn a few 2x @ 4x... but I wondered if the FW update would be worth it as I dont even know how old the G7L9 FW on it now is.. I usually buy the Ridata G05's as I can get 50 pack for 20$CDN. should I upgrade to newest G FW or try to flash to newest B FW.?? thanks
I keep several firmware sites on my favorites list. Americal.com has the latest B7T9 on both the bulk and retail drives.Dated feb-24. I couldn't find the "g" FW that was on there before. It may be for the dual layer, but I am too poor to pay for the dl discs, lol I will hold off on that update. I got a new motherboard ordered if the retards at fed ex would deliver it. Since my pc is not 100%,I burn at 99% success rate, and 100% re-rips on the fly success rate,I absolutely refuse to update it. I don't want to take the risk on the very fine burner. My other burners just don't recognize my backups very good in all my stand alones so I have updated them.
