flashing chameleon w/ programmer..help !!!

hey guys im trying to flash my chameleon w/ a programmer i'm trying to flash it with evoxm7.bin and when i try to write it to the chip it says "unknown flash" whats going on ??? when i click on scan it shows bank 0, bank 1, bank 2, bank 3, just to let you know....

 

it does read but it will not write...

 

First try a different PC. Set the Delay higher. New battery. Could also be a bad programmer or chip.

ok i actually tried a different modchip and it wrote to it so my other one is bad i guess...i got my xbox to boot off the cdrw to evox screen...how do i install that dashboard on my xbox ??

 

im sorry im a newbie i got evox dashboard installed on the xbox hd everything was working fine..then i tried to load a orginal xbox game and it wouldnt load...now when i power up my xbox the eject button blinks red to green and the screen says service required..help !!!!!!!

 

What is the error # in the upper left corner?

 

i'm not near it now but i believe it was 17

17 doesn't seem to be used according to this guide. Recheck and just match up the code.

it might be 16 ill have to check...if it is 16 would i have to reload the dashboard files onto the hd on the xbox...

 

Yes, normally errors 13 and 16 are either missing files or files named incorrectly.

if i have to put the original xbox dashboard back on how would i do it if my xbox wont boot the dashboard thats on it now and where would i find the original dashboard

 

Hi. Flash your bank 0 with an EvoX bios and re ftp to your xbox using FlashFXP ( http://www.flashfxp.com/ ) and rename your dash to either default.xbe, evoxdash.xbe, or yboxdash.xbe (depending on your bios!) and that should fix the problem. Oh and if you want the original dashboard, burn Slayer's EvoX autoinstaller and pop it in, and put in restore original dash. If that doesn't work, you could always just rename your original dash if you didn't delete it!

 

ok i got it working again thank for everyones help.... i have another question how do you play an original xbox game with the modchip installed ???

 

An original gae should work like it always did. If you have the EvolutionX dash installed check to make sure you have the Auto Load Games option set to YES in the Settings.

This is a little off the subject but does anyone know how to get in touch with modchipamerica.com i need to send my chip back for a new one because the chip they sent me is bad i've sent them three e-mails and its been over a week and nobody wrote me back yet....grrr

 

TO go online with XBLive you'd need to disable the chip and boot into the original M$ dash.
No idea about sending your chip back, never heard of them before.

you probably knew i would ask you this how do you dsable it and get it to boot into the original dash....

 

With the Chameleon chip you can use the Eject button if you soldered the P&E wires or you can use the EvolutionX dash if you edit the evox.ini file according to the User Manual on xodus-chip.com

hey i downloaded winlpc to try and see if i can write to the modchip with that software, im trying anything cause the place i bought it from still hasnt e-mailed me back...so anyway no matter what setting i set winlpc to, it says no device attached or please set correct settings....
