Hi guys and gals, I was considering starting my own flashing service here in my town and was wondering if its legal for me to flash 360's or not? I don't want to be noticed by the local police for flashing drives, but at the same time surely if i'm not selling backup games or anything underhand then i should be fine? Any advice and help will be appreciated as i want to get this little side business up and running asap! Cheers!
Who charges to flash 360's? I do them for free but I'm not always trying to make a quick dime/pence though.
Places in here in Sheffield UK charge £40 - £60, which IMHO is a rip-off, I bought the card, learned how from Afterdawn and done my own and then all my mates for free. I am now a god among men
I seemingly do everyone's here in Augusta Ga. I don't sell games at all but just flash. $35 each. People say it's worth it, especially people with lite-on's. Good extra money but I noticed it comes in bunches and then none at all for 2 weeks.
Thats a good price, works out about £20 (GBP)I would of gone for that, tho Im glad i bit the bullet and learned how to do it.
£15-£20 is what i'll be charging, i just wondered if it was legal to do here in the uk is all...i can't seem to find any info on it...i won't be touching the games side of things, just the flashing of consoles, any more info??
It is legal to actually flash the drive with custom firmware in the UK, the issue you have is that iextreme contains MS code which will be protected under International Copyright Law and is legally MS IP. It is also legal in the UK to have 1 backup copy of your legally owned games. So in short, you should be ok, but if they dig down there is a HUGE grey area that they might be able to get you on.
Well, here is a site claiming they have the cheapest 360 flashing service in UK, it's £35. So, according to that site, you would be the cheapest flasher in the UK.
LOL, yea I thought that, but read the T&C's actually seems quite clever how they are getting away with it.
