I am using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink but when dvd shrink starts it's back up process and i'm watching it's encoding proccess it starts flashing the review portion of the video...over and over again. I do not believe I am decoding correctly. Or am I? I am also using nero to burn. my system is Emprex 8x dual -+R / -+RW, and the media I am using is maxell dvd +R. thanks for your help.
Hi there slow45, Welcome to the Club, I suggest that you uninstall DVD Shrink reboot to flush it out then reinstall, reboot to let it settle in then give it a try again - Shouldn't "flicker" - IF it does, shut down everything in msconfig and DO NOT MULTI-TASK while encoding and burning are taking place - cheers, Pete
I am playing the dvds on a multiformat playerand haven't had any problems until now ( second back up dvd) I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled, rebooted, dvd shrink, and after I dvd decrypt - file - and save to a folder... run dvd shrink - back up it starts backing up but continues to flash the PG rating over...and over again.... I did everything you have recommended... installing new apsi... uninstalling all other burning software... turning everything off in the back round (msconfig) reboot... but it still won't work...thanks, from a newbie who needs help!
slow45, it's not actually clear (to me) if you're experiencing this problem while watching your backups, or if it only appears in DVD Shrink preview window while encoding. In any case, have you tried changing the DVD Shrink video renderer in the "Edit >> Preferences >> Preview" menu?
Hmm! [bold]I am using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink[/bold] STOP THAT! DVD Shrink rips just fine on its own and you can check it to burn with Nero. What operating system are you using? Give us something here to work with or read the Newbie threads. We might've "already been here and done that."
I am using the following: hp pavilion, ME, 1 GHz, 512 ram, 40GB 1st/ 80GB 2nd HD mitsumi cd-r, Emprex 8x dual-+R/-+RW media: Maxwell dvd + R I have been using both decrypter and shrink I will try using only shrink. However, what setting should be used for shrink, if any?
slow45, could you reply to my query? Here's another one: have you tried playing the backup from your hard-drive to see if it would play normally? P.S: I've noticed you use Windows ME. You should try changing the video renderer, as previously suggested. Try the "System,,," one first, or if you have an old graphic card, "Overlay...". _X_X_X_X_X_[small]~ ddlooping~ For DVD Shrink and related softwares guides and downloads, please visit http://www.dvdshrink.info[/small]
sorry ddlooping, I experience the flashing during encoding, and I just tried to play the backed up file from decrypter, and it looks all chopped up...not a clear picture...Like its not really decoded. I will try ripping staight from dvd shrink, unless there is something else I may be missing.
[bold]have you tried playing the backup from your hard-drive to see if it would play normally?[/bold] That might help, but Players such as PowerDVD and WindDVD will continue playing past faults that wouldn't stand a chance of playing on a stand alone player. You can use your computer to judge picture quality but not necessarily for standalone compatibility.
Sophocles, I just tried to play the ripped file from my hard drive and it looked all chopped up...I will continue the whole proccess, and see what the final dvd plays like on the stand alone player. thank you all for you help. slow45
If playing the film had the same problems on your hard disk then try ripping it again but use DVD Shrink instead. Just be sure that before you do, you remove the check, enable burning with Nero and when you hit backup choose a folder to land the file in. Things to check for are: DMA settings Defragged hard disk. Aspi layer
Sophocles, I defragged HD, only used dvd shrink, ignored the flashing pg rating frame...eventually...presto! a working copy! thanks for the help. I hope this only gets easier.
slow45 [bold]Sophocles, I defragged HD, only used DVD Shrink, ignored the flashing pg rating frame...eventually...presto! a working copy! thanks for the help.[/bold} I wish I could count the times that a simple defragg worked and then post it for all the new-folks but now, maybe you can share it.
Sorry guys, I was trying to fix this "Flashing thingie" - anyone have an idea what's causing this ?? "P"
