    Hi,

Trying to flash a starview box in Vista. It never moves from 0%. I have done a loopback test on cable so I know that is OK. Using this guide http://www.freewebs.com/starview-update/ . I flashed the same box a couple of years ago when I first got it but used XP. I'm wondering if there are know problems with Vista or is there anything else I should do.

I'm in Ch*rus area and the box is not a clone.

    Thanks

Flashing a box with vista is a nightmare get to a pc that runs xp and you should have no problems.

dub12dave is right. Forget about trying to do that with Vista. I could go in to a big long anti-M$ rant, but I won't. Take a look at this link, http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/, and make yourself a live windoze xp cd.
You could either include the gtrom loader on the cd, or put it on to a usb key along with the latest firmware. Boot the live cd, plug in the key, and run do the upgrade that way. At least this way, you get to keep Vista as your primary OS, although it does mean you still have the pain of dealing with an OS from M$ everyday.
