Ok Here is the story. I have an original Xbox, manufact date of 11-19-01. It was originally modded by a guy I worked with at a time using an epprom to flash the bios and new hdd and the works. That is the part I am fuzzy on as I am not that technical. I have since changed out the hard drive several times over the past 7 years and have always managed to "find" the software and get everything reinstalled as the past hard drives die. It has always said bios version evox 2.2. I have done a few other little hardware mods such as a HDD indicator light etc..., but never had to put in a mod chip. What is the newest version and what are the changes? Am I able to flash the bios to a new version right from evox or via a boot cd? Remember I have NO chip.
Sounds like your tsop was flashed . The newest EvoX bios is m8 plus . And yes you can flash your tsop from EvoX .
Reflash the TSOP chip using EVOX but make sure you flash it with X25035 1MB old. Remember, the bios you use has to be 1MB. That's the best bios that i've used so far. Also, download x2config and tweeck the start up settings.
