Hi, I want to flash my DS. I have read alot about this flashme v7. Here are my questions: 1. is it safe to flash my DS with this flashme v7? 2. where can I donwload the latest version of flashme? is it version 7? I already tried one url from dspassme site, but it is a dead link. 3. is it worth doing this? 4. anything else I need to know so that I do not turn my DS into a brick? 1. Yes, just be sure to keep you DS connected to a power supply to avoid losing power. 2. I would say get it from the official FlashMe site, but that seems dead at the moment, so try: http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=downloads&filter=nds&categoryid=105 3. Yes, Reduces power consumption compared to used a Pass device, and removes that annoying Health and Safty screen. 4. DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER! I know it's obvious but the amount of people i know to have done this. Do not turn off your DS untill FlashMe has finished installing, if the progrees bar stops, it means SL1 isn't shorted properly, try moving your metal object around a bit, or getting something else (foil works well)
Hi mr_hanky, thank you for the response. but I have one question. Someone here in the forum had emailed me the flashme v7. But I was a little concern about the file that he sent me. I downloaded the flashme v7 from the website you have recommended and compared the downloaded file and the file that was emailed to me. The downloaded file size is 270kb The file that someone emailed me was about 526kb. So which one is the correct one? Do you know what is the actual correct file size for this flashme v7? Many Thanks!
I have archives of all DS homebrew that I have downloaded, and I have found the FlashMe v7 that I have installed and it says 269kb, so I'd recommend going for downloaded file.
Both work in just the same way, only difference being the stealth version keeps the health and safty screen. So i'd recommend using the regualr one to skip that annoying screen.
