No problem! You may have to use some tape? But i used the white tape that was used from factory on mine to tape it down. Just be sure not to have a twist in it. Like I said. I did mine fine with no problems and did it in like 10- 15 min.
I installed my Flip Top last night, and for some reason, it makes some REALLY bad sounds whenever I try to play Jak 3. The disc isn't scratched or anything, the Reset/Eject wires aren't pinched, and other games have worked without any terrible noises, but the sounds I hear coming from my PS2 while playing Jak 3 (and the game doesn't get past the "Playstation 2" screen either) make me wonder if buying a Flip Top was worth it. Are strange sounds coming from your Flip Top normal? I screwed the case on tight, but not TOO tight, and the white disc in the top is from my old PS2 case, so I doubt that's the problem. I know I snapped the disc into the drive correctly, but it still sounds like it came loose and is spinning around inside my PS2.
So let me get this staight PChuggs! The PS2 only makes noise when you play Jak 3? What other games do you have that do not make noise? Could be a couple of things!
Can somebody please send me like a guide to make your own flip top cover, i altready know the explostation.com guide, but i am searching for a different one.
Great, I imported KOC2, and now my Flip Top won't play that game either! This is really starting to piss me off. Easy installation my ****! I guess the Flip Top only works with games you DON'T want to play.
Hey guys. I just tried to install a flip top to a slim PS2 but I can't get it to work at all...Anyone have any guess what I did wrong?
I purchased my flip top a few years back, and have to set a weight on the top of my ps2 to keep the discs from spinning out of control. The white magnet disc, if inserted, is too tight of a fit, and will not allow the discs to spin. Oh well. Even after all of that, I recommended the sire I purchased from to 2 friends. They ordered in February. 1 just received his 2 weeks ago after many emails to the staff at www.ps2lids.com , and the other still cannot get any responses from their staff. it has been 7 months. Both of their credit cards were charged in February.
I'm trying to put the flip top cover for the ps2 slim on and Everything appears to have gone fine so far, but when I initially opened the case, the power LED (which also incidentally turns the thing on) came out of the housing on the top hald of the case. I believe there may be also a spring associated with it. When I say LED, I mean the actual little board that the LED and power button are mounted on. How can I fix this back to the way it's supposed to be? Any help from anyone would also be appreciated.
I was wondering if anyone around here can help me. I installed a fliptop recently but it won't boot any games or swap magic and just makes a loud sceechy noise. Anyonme know anything that might fix this. Sorry if this was answered already. Thanks.
Well.....I had the same problem. But mine sorta fixed itself after playing it awhile. A few questions for you. Does it load any of the swap magic disks?? I assume you are using the DVD disk? Have you tried using the CD-Rom Disk? Try booting up with the CD-Rom disk. If it loads...which mine would load CD version everytime. No noise or anything. BUt try booting that disk and if it loads open , eject disk insert DVD version and hit the power /reset button. It will then close tray and reboot. 8 out of 10 times that has worked for me. ANd the more you can play it the better. I can now load the DVD version 8 out 10 times with booting with DVD version only. Dont ask me why. ANd for the game part. The noise may all be in your media type. The PS2 reads many types of Media different. Some a smoother than others to read. I always use Sony -R on mine and it runs very smooth and loads quick. I have tried Memorex, it will load but a littel rough and loading the main menues and going from level to level boots very slow. BUt Sony seems to take care of that and load just as fast as the orginal. Hope this helps. iF not get back to me and i ahve some other ideas yo u can try.
I fixed it. It seems the fliptop wasn't on tight enough so the magnet didn't touch the top. Thanks for the reply though.
NO PROBLEM.....THAT WAS MY NEXT THING I WAS GOING TO TELL YOU TO DO. BUT YOU GOT IT...SO GOOD..ENJOY!!!
