If it's the spring I'm thinking of...all it has to do with is the slim PS2 opening when you press the open button instead of you lifting the lid yourself, so it should be causing you any problems like that...but what the hell do I know...I've broken more PS2s than any man has any business breaking
hi people can some one give me a picture or a website on what a slide card is and a picture of how to use a slide card thanks
@[bold]tolgadem[/bold], try this: http://www.console.com/_playstation_2/slidecard/ps2_slidecard_1.jpg
THANX kev2976 you got it ..... it was like you said the spinners motor and I fixed ... i paid 40$ to the technician for everything ....
I bought a ps2 slim flip top cover and swap magic bundle and installed it as the directions said. I wasn't sure where the little L shaped chip thing went at first because it moved when I opened the Ps2, but then I figured out that it was the on-off switch thing, and it fit in the little groove and it seemed to go together fine but now I cannot get it to turn on. The little red light doesn't come on when it is plugged in. Did I mess the chip up by touching it?
i just wanted to say something about flip tops. i do not reccomend flip tops to anyone, mine has given me nothing but problems, first it took a couple hours to install and due t a design flaw i cannot even close the flip top lid, i have to take the round white plastic disc and put it directly ontop of my game disc or swap garbage (magic) in the beginning i would be able to load swap magic 1 out of 5-8 times complete with a terrible grinding noise. Now that i finally got my jap game in the mail i had something to test it to make sure it works, i chuck in swap magic DVD loader takes about 3 tries before i get it to load, so i swap out the swap crap and put in my fire pro returns and hit X, it loads says the games maker goes to a black screeen and freezes, so i do the process over again, this time i get as far as the game menu, i go to options, game starts skipping like crazy and freezes, i do the process again this time i don't go to options and go straight into a match, works fine, i play a few matches and then pause and turn off the tv for dinner, i turn the tv back on and select my wrestlers and try to start the match, black screen and its frozen again, pissed off at this point i turn the system off and put the swap magic disc back in, won't load, so after 50+ times of trying to load swap crap, i'm pissed as hell, 3 out of the 50 times it seemed like it was going to load, but nope goes to some screen i've never seen before, its a screen that has a red moving backround and it says please insert a playstation 2 disc or a playstation 2 formatt disc, no idea what that means, so i try to load a regular ps2 game and same crap, i don't know what the hell to do now, anyone care to help? sorry for for the lack of grammer and spelling, i'm pissed right off at this point and i don't feel like editing thanks in advance
@[bold]linangel[/bold], sounds like you mean the slidecard. In my sig there is a link to a site that has the tutorial for it. On newer slimlines, those aren't used anymore (btw, never get a new slimline if u can/older fat models kick butt) but instead 3 sensors need to be covered. Don't think anything came loose by what you described. @[bold]manta5369[/bold], your post made me smile. It'll be alright i cussed up a storm first time i learned how to use the $(*!-+% thing. Dude, no prob with the SM it sounds like it's the game. Really. If u have a slimline (v12-v16) PS2, just cover the 3 sensors & rid of the flipcover for awhile. Flipcovers are nice for keeping the dust off.. but they don't serve any other purpose. Look in my sig, u can custom make 3 sensor covers if u own a slimline.
i don't have a slim flip top, my slim was to new and there wasn't a flip top, so i'm using my bit older bigger model, please help me and i'm sure it isn't the game either because i've tried 4 USA commercial non burnt games and like i said in my post, the swap magic will not load at all, it either goes to the browser screen and stops spinning or goes to that weird red screen
I got everything set up in my new fliptop lid, but I'm having trouble putting the top back on the ps2. I can't seem to get the back end of the top lined up right/put on correctly while keeping the front aligned properly. Any pointers? Also, this is on a v1 ps2, is it possible that I'm having problems getting the case back on perfectly because I was sent the fliptop case for v4-vXX, and not the fliptop case for v1?
Can NE1 Help?... I bought a clear mod flip top for my ps2 FAT. I installed it last nite and it wouldnt turn on. I went to sleep(angry), just woke up did a few checks on fuse's power supply and reset/eject switch. I found out the power light turns on, but the cd wont spin. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED seeing how i have black on the way ($47) for one game, i just got fight night round 3, and i have socom 3 on the way. I NEED TO PLAY THESE GAMES. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!
mabye the reset ribbon cable is stuck, if not that try to see if the fliptop is installed right, then try putting asn heavy case on it. If after all that nothing, then i m cluless as to what its issues are.
i have a fliptop installed and i have been using the dvd magic disc 3.6 for 2 weeks. and all of a sudden when i want to play kingdom hearts 2 it makes noises okay here i'll tell you what i do 1. i press open the fliptop lid and put in the disc all the way 2. i press the on button then it goes to the screen to where it shows the memory card and the disc so i click ont he disc to play right so it goes black then it shows the "playstation2" in white with the black backround then it goes black and it starts makiing loud noises and i cant play [bold]can anyone give me advice on what to do so i could play[bold]
i dont understand why nobody talks about www.revolution-sales.com this has the lowest prices and lowest shipping.my flip top with sm3.6 plus shipping costs me 46 canadian 41 us
wow! this thread is four years old I couldn't believe I had an email saying someone replied to it lol
*sigh* I'm yet another fool who was duped by Don Rieb of www.saveware.com (aka www.fliptopcovers.com) fame. In the early posts and on some other sites, it seemed his site was reputable, so I didn't bother reading further and took the plunge, buying a fliptop case and Swap Magic bundle. His site claims that most orders are sent within 24 hours, and I recieved a reciept via email within minutes, and so was initially pleased. However, more than a month has passed since he charged my card without the promised "order sent" confirmation, and my package has yet to arrive. I have tried numerous times to contact him, yet my emails go unanswered and his voicemail is perpetually full, presumably with complaints from others like myself. In fact, since the initial reciept, which was automatically generated and sent by a web-based "shopping-basket" program after it charged my card, I haven't had any contact from him whatsoever. Fair warning to everyone else: STAY AWAY FROM www.fliptopcovers.com / www.saveware.com.
Amazing what an afternoon of boredom and a month of irritation at someone will do for a tired old thread like this, eh?
Well, since some people are obviously reading this thread, here it goes... I have a V7 (fat) PS2 and I have tried to install a Flip-Top lid in order to play backups, but it's absolutely a no-go. With the lid installed, nothing will read, whether I put in an audio CD, a retail movie DVD, a real PS2 game, or the Swap Magic disc. However, if I re-install the regular lid, it will read "real" CDs and DVDs just fine. I've seen threads on here about somehow tricking the sensors on slimline PS2's in order to get it to read discs, so I wonder if there is anything like that for people that are having similar problems with the older "fat"-type PS2s. Any ideas?
some ps2's with flip tops wont read if the screws on the bottom are tight.try without any screws in.that worked on my frends console.
