So you think it's safe to buy just a flip top then?

yes but if you live in the us get it from a united states dealer who hasnt been raided because its more safe.if you dont live in the us then order from canada or any other european or asian site but make sure with us if they're reputable.

Fantastic kairu...I had been fighting with mine since last year and never really thought about that piece. I have been just using weight on mine. Works like a charm now. Thank you.
I don't have that on my fliptop, my reset switch is on a tab thing that I just push down on to stay intact in the fliptop lid, so I didn't need to do that part. I also didn't need to loosen screws on fliptop under the white magnet either. Maybe some fliptops are different than others.
Anyway great post and thanks for sharing that info. Worked great for me.

Thanks for the heads up on that problem. Followed Kiaru's instructions to the letter and the yougfella is now playing away on the ps2. This solution is a must for anyone who bought their fliptop cover from psxservices.co.uk. There is no mention of the metal piece in their instructions. Once again thanks smokeyrain for pointing me in the right direction and a big thanks to Kiaru for posting this
