I am trying to burn video clips from a freinds Flip Video camcorder. Has anyone tried Using Nero to do this? When I tried it and burned it the player said it there was a disk error..can not play back. Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you burning directly to the disc or are you capturing the video to your hard drive first.

Rotary, I have used "maxell" brand with other burning projects with sucsess. So I dont think that is the problem. Your second idea is what the problem is.

Gwendolin, I copy to the hardrive first. I put it in a folder on my desktop. Then drag it to nero express but then it says "no compatible files found" I am thinking that this Flip video protects the video so you have to take it to one of their outlets in the big box stores to get it to dvd disc. But in the manual it says you can use a third party program to burn dvds yourself but didnt say which ones. They also said something about "codec" and getting it into the correct format. Ideas?

Thank you for the replies, both of you.

ok, i can see a few things here so i need to clarify like gwendolin

1, what are the files types coming from flip camcorder? avi? mpg?

2, are you needing to convert these file types to dvd compliant files for burning? or keep as is with no encoding as a data dvdr, because you have an avi/mpeg player? or do you just have a standard dvd player (so needs converting?)

3, nero to get to dvd compliant needs a plugin serail loaded for dvd, check start menu/nero/nero toolkit/control center/licenses see if you have it installed...

you can try dvd flick its free if you dont have plugin.

4, also you mentions clip(S) do you need a menu? dvd flick beta does a basic menu...
