Hi there, The floppy drive light will not go out on my PC. WHen I shut down it also claims that it is trying to access the drive. ANy ideas how I stop the light from being on and the shut down message? Cheers for any help. Da_Boo
hello, has it been on since u got/built the pc if so then u need to unhook it and turn the 34pin cable that connects it to the motherboard around, that should do the trick mate.
yes that should fix your problem, pins backwords. I have a question, do you really use your 3.5 anymore.
there are still many reasons to use them: they're an excellent way to back up small files/drivers, boot in a jiff, work with other older computers not on your network, and add retro-compatibility. it's all about being prepared. if there's ever the slightest possibility that you're going to use something, it's better to have it than not to have it. plus, with space-saving floppies that have 9- or 11-in-one memory card readers built in, how can you say no?
My keyboard (musical not PC) has a floppy disk slot for MIDI and recording files, so it would be useful, but unfortunately my last PSU toasted mine (quite literally) and I haven't got around to replacing it yet! Generally the error you described means pins backwards, but don't worry it won't usually have damaged anything.
