    Hi,

    I dont know if I am on the right area here, and my question may seem a little 'long-winded' but here goes;

    I have just got a load of .flv files from Youtube (by my favourite pop group) and put then all in chronological order and batch converted them through WinAvi. After conversion I played the feature-length file. and the quality of the finished videos ranges from good to really bad. Now, is there any software than I can download, to run the file through, and 'clean up' to improve the video quality? so that all of the finished file is perfect?

    thanks

    Well... that really depends on the original .flv files. If they're horrible quality, then there's no way to expect the .avi conversion to be any prettier. In fact, it's only going to get worse.

    ...that said, try opening them up in VirtualDubMod (with an .flv-support plugin) and convert using DivX/Xvid settings that you set yourself. It's a tedious process, and you won't understand 99% of what you're tinkering with, but it's still better than just letting a proram do all the work. WinAvi probably uses a generic AVI encoder setting, which is why it produces lackluster results.
