They're DVD-R's. 4X, 100 pack, and $26.99. Good deal for everybody who wants to save money.

    They're at http://supermediastore.com

They also have other good deals on it too, like a 50 pack 16X ones for $22. They have +R's if ur interested too.

The only reason i wont buy from these sites(such as rima, supermediastore and meritline) is that their shipping sucks ass. Who the hell pays $5-7 for ground shipping? And they're freaking warehouses are in california. Might be good for some of u who live in it or near it, but i live in NY, THATS FEAKIN AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY, which sucks for me cause i can only have it delivered to me in 5 days and i have to pay $7 for the GROUND shipping, Those of u in the west, go for it, best deals for u, those of u in cali, what can i say?, i hate u, u get it in one day. That's why im gonna order maxell's from newegg, they got a warehouse in NJ and they have free 3 day shipping deals, so ill get it in one day, i got my dvd burner in one day with free 3 day shipping. :) And newegg gives free gifts too. :)

I hope some of u like this, ive seen people ask for good media and TY's, so i made this. If u wanna try other sites, there's:
    http://supermediastore.com
    http://rima.com
    http://meritline.com

Just remember to always buy Maxell, Taiyo Yuden(TY), TDK or RITEK.

Btw, if u wanted to know, there are a coupla brands made by RITEK called Dynex and RiData, they're good too. Sony is good too but their DVD+-R's are hard to find...at least for me, and im not gonna buy them at Staples, freakin $15 for a 25-pack, i should bought them at the sale when they were selling them for $9, but i didnt have a dvd burner back then:(. Oh well, i hope everybody likes this, tell me about it too.

    hi welcome marik,

this is a pretty good deal, however, your rant about the shipping prices is a little overboard~ that's just MY opinion, when is $5-$7 shipping considered a TOTAL RIP OFF? i happen to LIVE in California where all these media retailers are located, but you never considered the FACT that i have to pay SALES TAX~ which ends up being MORE than your so called "$5-$7 shipping price" that you feel is so overpriced, yes, i get them within a few days, but, i pay MORE than you do EVERY SINGLE TIME~

anyways, not trying to start a flame war and i admit if newegg.com has the same media/product i am looking for, i WILL buy from them with their 3 day free shipping promos...but, once again, i STILL pay for California Sales Tax, still a few dollars MORE than you will EVER pay, regardless of WHEN you receive your items.

anyways, my main reason for posting here is not to flame you, it's more to state that TDK is NOT reliable media~ they use a variety of manufacturers including the worst of the bunch, CMC MAG...and i also personally do not like the quality of TDK's own manufactured media with the TTG01/TTG02 coding, so i do NOT recommend TDK to anyone~

    have a good one...just my 2 cents :)

    docTY~

Well, we have 2 differnet opinions, for u, its the $, for me its the shipping time...i just cant wait 5 days for something to come...and i dont pay tax for that if i order it here in NYC, if i buy from a retailer, then yea, but the only bad thing is that newegg doesnt sell TY's...so i decided to buy 16X 50 pack TY's from rima. i can wait 5 days now for them, i guess...

I'll agree on the TDK being GARBAGE, the one time I bought it it coded out as CMC MAG Junk! Also Dynex is not always RITEK made, they use alot of junk mfgr's also like AML,CMC,AN31,INFODISC,etc....

    Stick with TY's and Verb's......

If you think that $5 to $7 is high for shipping now, wait til the fuel prices begin to affect the shipping costs. I saw diesel yesterday for $3.25 gal in Michigan. This will cause an increase in shipping and product price.

I don't like the long wait either, in fact my 5 day wait for my TY's is over today as UPS says they are delivered. Can't wait til I get home.

Well, my Dynex coded out RITEKG001, that good i guess right? And it was a DVD+R, my cousin gave me 2, we burnt 2 DBZ sagas on it to archive them and free space on my 75GB(9GB left) HDD. Ill just buy the 16X ones and order ground shipping and itll come out to $28 on rima, if i buy the 8X ones that are 17.50, then i can buy $10 3-day shipping with them, and they'll come out to $28, so its a tough decision...is there really any difference between the two? I mean, im buying these mostly for PS2 and video, i dont think ill ever even go over 8X anyway, but it would be good to show off and have 16X TY DVD-R's...hmmm...what do i want?, the better(quality is better by a tiny margin i think) faster DVD-R's or do i want faster shipping? Hard thing to decide...anyone wanna comment? I think in the end ill go with the $17.50 50-pack of 8X TY's and order it with 3-day shipping...i might do it now to make sure it gets here on monday...

    @marik

i would go with the choice that you have just made, the 8x~ :) having 16x TYG03s is not really "Bragging rights" to me as i strongly suggest you NOT BURN THEM @max 16x~ :) you only increase your chance of errors when burning THAT fast... i personally keep ALL my burning @8x~ :) even on the 8x rated TYs u JUST bought (or i assume you did) :)

i see your point about the shipping time, we all have diff. perspectives on things :) i respect that~ :) for me, personally, i am willing to wait a few days longer to save $10+, call me cheap, but THAT is a good deal to me~ LOL

just wanted to add to your comment here:
the quality is NOT "better" on the 16x TYs compared to the 8x or even the 4x...it's just the "rated speed" is faster, that is all :) just wanted you to know that ahead of time, the same process is used to make ALL Taiyo Yuden media, the ONLY difference is the "Rated speed" :)

good luck w/ your new TYs and let us know how they work out for ya~

    docTY~

Yea, i know about that, but i dont buy over a 50-pack of CD/DVD media at once...just in case.

Btw, i didnt mean better quality, i meant speed too...and the good thing about the 8x i ordered is that.....people have said they can burn them at 12X, so something better added in for me...

marik1234 its really not a good idea to over burn your media NEVER burn dvds at more than 8x to be on the safe side.

good rule of thumb burn your 4x media at 4x max. your 8x media at 8x or as most do in here below the rated speed 4x usally .and your 16x media at 8x max.

:) yes, i agree "overburning" your media above the rated speed is not a good idea, while i have done it with "decent" results, burning time should NOT be an issue, to shave a few min. by overburning your 8x media @ 12x or even 16x? not worth it in MY book, but, hey, do whatever pleases you... :)

I didnt mean that i would burn at 12X, i was just saying that i heard u could, i already know not to burn higher than 8X, i burn PS2 games at 1X, they usually go to 4X though...and i only burn data discs at 8X max. I only used this so far on a Dynex DVD+R 8X manufatured by RITEK and the code was RITEKG02...i think. It works flawlessly on my ps2, i burnt the new budokai to it, load times are better than perfect and so are the graphics...looks better than a real PS2 game DVD disc. Honestly, it does, seriously.
