Hi guys, I have 3 computers: Specs are AMD XP2500 1.5g DDR1 ram, 512L2 cache Intel 4 CPU 3.0 ghz 1.og DDR2 ram, 2gig L2 cache Celeron CP2 2.4 ghz 1.og DDR1 ram,128 L2 cache So I have a small test file which just basically counts from 0 up to a user inputted number , say 1 million. I know its just a basic test but here are my observations. The test runs fastest on the AMD computer , takes 7 seconds The test runs a bout the same on the other 2 , about 19 seconds. The Intel computer with 2g L2 cache is the newest & u beautest computer I have. I really thought that it would crap ALL over the others, but no so!!!!!!. Also the AMD computer just feels quicker. I always though that the reason my AMD outperformed the Celeron (before I got the Intel) was because it has double the L2 cache. So when I got the Intel with 2g L2, I thought I was home & hosed. Also I have a program called CPU Spy that wont even recognise the 2g L2 cache (so maybe I have been ripped??) On reading the AMD vs Intel post , maybe AMD is so much quicker?? Can anyone help?? cheers
AMD are just quicker than Intel (fact) I was forced to use a P4 3.2 HT with 1Gb ram etc... a while ago and it felt like I had my arms tied behind my back. Can't understand why people keep buying Intel anymore, they are loosing the battle big time!
