I have a friend in the UK and he is getting new card so he said I could have his, I live in the US. Is there anything I should worry about? Will it work? Also my comp is store bought, so does this mean that I'll need a new power supply? Does anyone know how much exess power a store bought comp usually has?

It's an ATI 9600XT 256MB. And is there a way to find out the wattage w/o opening up the comp, save me sometime maybe? I was also told I might need to add some memory, like an extra 256MB.

your documentation might tell you but still possibility you will have to open case to get wattage info & see if you have the right slot for that card.

Here are the numbers exactly as I saw:

    output 12v 13A 5v
    250 max 5v 20A 12v
    3.3v 25A 5vsb

I'm not sure if that's 250 max or 25. And there's been a change in the cards, it's now a Radeon 9700 Pro 256MB. So new psu or what?

Thanks, what the worst case scenario if I stick w/ the psu I already got? The site barely shows me needing over 300 why 400? Is this just in case thing?
