This is probably the dumbest question you have read today,,,But, I want to format a DVD-RW so that I can "drag and drop" files to the disk. How do I format it??? I am using Nero 7.2.0.3.
When you insert a black disc in the drive, the formatting occurs in the background. During use, it seems as if the drive takes scarcely more than a minute to complete the formatting before it allows you to start copying data to the disc.
dolphin2--But when I try to "drag and drop" a file to the disk I get this error: Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy to this folder. When I try to create a folder on the disk I get the following error message: Unable to create the new folder. File system error 16389.
Windows XP doesn't support the creation of folders to DVD. Do transfer a folder to DVD, you have to create it on your hard drive then burn with Nero (or other app). Windows Vista is "supposted" to include this feature.
