Formatted memory stick but still 30MB/32MB

    I formatted my memory stick and I have 30 out of 32 mb on it. anyone know why, and if theres a way i could get it back to 32MB?

    you will never get the exact amount of memory advertised. the amount that's advertised is raw memory, and once formatted you will lose a certain amount to make the memory stick work.

    Yeah, it takes a few MB to make the folders and such for the Memory Stick.

    Another problem is that 1MB is actually 1024KB.
    But different places use those extra 24KB and some drop them.
    To lazy to actually think if that would matter but it might.

    Oh, and you REALLY need to upgrade.
    What are 1GB Sticks now?
    Like $20?

    It's actually a percentage of space you give up. I believe it's somewhere around 2/3 of a percent. So the bigger the space formatted the more that is lost.

    will it make a difference if I open the psp files on a desktop and delete them from there?
