formatting

    hi ive got a net-book and trying to install win xp every time it try to format says drive is corrupt which i know its not as i have installed win 7 on it it previously had win home starter on it and ive noticed the hd is fat 32 how do i format this to ntfs for win xp cheers

    try downloading parted magic and put it on cd then boot into it and delete partation then format whith ntfs if that dosent work try using secure erase also on cd.

    thanx for that worked fine but now after copying xp files i get something like dll hal missing

    what service pack is that xp? was that home starter for win7?

    what is the make & model# of the netbook to see if there is xp drivers even for it? ran into that with an asus or acer netbook when it's windows screwed up & it would not let me load xp pro sp2, had to load vista on it.
