I think when you join ad there should be one of those agreement things that say if you dont obey forum rules you will be banned without any warnings,It would be easiar to just ban then, them make the mods think should i give them a chance or not or waste the mods time by showing the noob forum rules.......So i think they should have the forum rules on the regestering page...

I toatly agree with u there... That would get rid of those people that dont abide by the rules early on...

but on the flip side most people just scroll down and click accept.

But i do agree on a generic rule acceptance when u sign up...

Why is it that all you want to do is talk about banning someone?

    Ever since your first post.

will have to agree with you there geestar buddy~ :) while i don't post to this forum or the safety valve much, ALL i ever see when i'm READING through, are threads created by Glitched, are the "banning" threads or he incessantly goes into various threads and comments about "banning" in some shape/way or form...

c'mon Glitched, we ALL can obviously SEE how MUCH you want to be a "MOD", but boosting your post count and continually creating these threads about banning/rules blah blah blah is getting pretty tired.

while i admit your idea of forum rules = banning faster is pretty good, as borhan pointed out, MOST people just scroll down and click accept, END OF STORY~ :)

i can TELL you are a kid, nothing wrong with being a kid as we all were at one time or still are...but, this "Banning" topic is getting VERY old, VERY QUICKLY...and i'm SURE some of the "mods" that you so dearly want to be like when you get older are sick of this too~ just a little advice from someone that would LIKE to see you STAY here at AD, but contribute a little more to everyone that needs help, rather than live your "Dream of one day becoming a MOD and have the power of the BAN button" :)

    docTY~

Glitched - it's unfortunate that what i have to say will most likely come across harsh because it's not meant that way at all so i hope you understand. what Kivory said is correct, you need to help out a bit more around here rather than just throwing the "ban" word around so much. dont get me wrong, i appreciate the daily PM's letting me know of certain issues, but it does tie up my time alot more than needed. but trust me, i wish we had 100 more members just like you! but using the report feature will do just fine, i get to those much faster than my PM's since i get a ridiculous amount of PM's every single day. allthough what you're doing does help the mods out, it tends to annoy the other members of the forum, which is something that you really dont want to doing, once you get on their bad side it's very hard to come back. like i said, dont get me wrong, we like people to remind others of the rules when they are being broken, but there is a limit to everything. Let us handle the moderating and you handle the helping of others and reporting stuff that needs our attention as it arises. I hope you dont get offended by any of this, it's just one of those things that sounds worse than it's meant to sound.
oh and btw, as far as the topic of this thread, if someone is breaking the rules it takes me all of 0.00005 seconds to think about whether they get banned or not. some things i let slide with a warning, but not much. nothing makes me happier than coming to a thread where someone does something then 5 members tell them to edit their post before a mod see's it, and they actually do!! that means our members are helping out and it's working and i dont have to even say anything and no one gets banned.

(first off this is not all aimed at Glitched, only this paragraph is relevant to you - and my comments aren't out of malice just as the other guys' comments aren't) - i PM'd geestar20 about this earlier cus he (and now you kivory666) have said what i wanted to say but didn't know quite how to as last time i did it was with ragepro (i only mention this as i only last night found out that ragepro later became killerc/darthmaul/ADbanned/who knows how many more). I got slapped for asking ragepro to be more productive and unfortunately we can all see how low ragepro sunk and how many members/threads he has fouled. (i'm not gonna say who slapped me; i disagreed with said slapping but discussed it with slapper [lol sorry the word 'slapper' wasn't intentional] and took the slap constructively/on the chin). Anyway, not saying you are bad Glitched, not at all, whatever you or any of us say about the rules, ppl will still break them or ignore them. Hence my next drawn out paragraph :) -

That paragraph leads me to summarise the way i work around the forums -

i myself post and browse incessantly, and i feel the mod's frustration as i have to sift thru far too much crap to get where i need to go (ie i'm either constantly researching old posts or crossreferencing details to help out on posts) and quite frankly it's extremely frustrating to have to wade thru all the nonsense posts/multiposts/banned idiots coming back just to cause more grief/etc/ad finitum, just in order to do simple research for ppl. I hold my hand up as probably being annoying to mods as i use the 'offensive post' button more than the backspace key (anyone who knows me will know that's lots!). I probably also annoy some members too as i probably seem to be everywhere like an octopus but i'm someone who absorbs like a sponge and when i stumble on something i always stop to comment/help, then notice something else/stop to help and i end up with umpteen firefox tabs open while i cross-reference things, then i remember i've seen a problem before and more sessions get opened. But just as i'm reaching saturation point i always get stopped in my tracks by some irrelevance (i don't mean a little chatting i mean idiot posts/swearing/piracy/total irrelevance/taunting/<add loads of other stuff in here too> so i resort to the 'offensive post' button.

I certainly don't do it myself to become a mod as hopefully anyone who follows my ramblings would see (but God help anyone if i was a mod as i'd no doubt be a mixture of Neph/Flip and darthnip all rolled into one big ball o'pain!! LOL; i do mod at burningbits but it's still up and coming and i digress), but my point is that the longer i'm here at AD i'm getting a feel for seeing how much crap the mods have to sift thru just to keep things ticking over. I would think my reporting of stuff helps more than it hinders as often times a heads up can stop a thread degenerating before it starts.. And as i already said, i feel the frustration of the mods as i can't ever research for long without stumbling over some nonsense that makes me lose my train of thought (very easily done and often times leads to mistakes in my replies). I then have to take time reporting the idiots and checking what other threads they've fouled with their irrelevance.

That's quite enough sensible (or irritating) talk from me, i need to get back to work...

well the reason i made this thread is becasue in the last 2 days ive seen more than 10 people not obeying forum rules...

I really dont care if im a noob for ever, status means nothing to me,I wouldnt want to be a mod, wats the fun of looking at idoits and banning them i prefer to help and get help...

......Also i heard many of you say i dont help....do a search on me in the ps2 part of this forum and you can see all the peopple i helped and in other forums too,,

Hmmm...so a little piece of your posts are productive, thats a start. I also see you post A LOT in the safety valve, aD feedback, news, all other topics, try not so much because however fun it is to post in those sections they dont help all the other members out there that need help and as you said

    Aren't you contradicting your self?

    Glitched, take it easy.

Don't get excited here. Just make sure when you look at all your posts, you are satisfied that you have contributed a lot to the forums! And only make threads if

    A) you need help on something which hasn't been covered.
    B) you have a guide/helper which helps people on stuff that hasn't been covered.

lastly, you have posted a lot in the safety valve. i cannot tell you how much you should and shouldn't post there, but make sure, as i say, that you have done a lot of helping first.

and just a polite suggestion, maybe change the sig? if you have many suggestions about how banning should be imposed, contact somebody about it and see if they get back to you instead of posting lot's of threads like these..

    ;)

Like i say, take it easy.

Friends at ad. I know I haven't been here long, but as I read all the discussions on banning or not banning I realize that if everyone could allow those who handle that area to do their job and the reat to just try to learn, grow and help other members grow. I have learned so much in a short amount of time and I have talked a friend into joining and he loves it. I appreciate everyone, even if I don't know you yet for this reason...this is a place where everyone helps everyone...not based on physical image, but on the character and integrity of words. Have a good night. keep on burning!
