Just wondering why afterdawn doesn't have a forum topic for atari, nes, snes, genesis, etc, Emulators and Rom's. I read the forum rules and didn't see anything against it. Since I own these im going to ask about them here, hopefully i don't invoke the wrath of the moderators. Im looking for a playstation emulator for pc. Mainly so I can play Bubble Bobble. my disc is no longer readable and I am unable to make a backup. The NES bubble bobble just sucks. playstations is just like the arcade. I've found a few ps emulators but they all need some type of bios file. can anyone explain what this is or where i can find one? pm me if it's not against the rules to talk about this. If anyone wants to know where to find other emulators or roms or how to run them I'll be glad to help.
as far as nintendo, snes, atari, and sega systems go, I don't think I've ever seen any topic about them, so I don't think there's a forum for those older gaming consoles simply because no one here really discusses them. and while there is the ocassional emulator question, again there really isn't a large amount of discussion about them here, so thats why there hasn't been a specific forum for those topics. but if you do have any q'a about them, the "all other topics" forum would be the appropriate one, and you should get some help in there.
i suppose it wont hurt to tell you what a bios is... from my knowledge a bios file is just a file version of the basic playstation... for example the computer bios, without it, nothing would work... asking where yto get bios files are in fact illegal though, and is an unwritten forum rule in my opinon... hope this helps a littel... and BTW the reason for not having emulation forums is for the shere fact that emulation is in some levels considered illegal... obviously i see no reason for it to be illegal in refernce to snes, nes and all the old platforms cause otherwise you cannot get those games anymore... so hope this helps...
Yeah thanks for the help. I heard as long as you actually had the game or system then roms and emulators weren't illegal to posess maybe i heard wrong. I guess ill have to keep searching for a bios file for my ps emulator. I already have bubble bobble backed up into a rom form
