I would like to burn four AVI's (around 300 mb each) into a DVD-r... I have the subtitles on .SRT format, but I don't know if I should convert them into .MPG (with TMPEGnc), to VOB or ISO. And which burning software I should use... :S

I've converted them to .VOB separately with [bold]AVI2DVD[/bold]. I ended up with 4 folders with 3 vobs under the VS_VIDEO folder, like VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, and some other diferent files.

After this I tried to burn them with NEROVISION EXPRESS. It wouldn't let me, it joins the 3 vobs from each folder together and makes a 2 GB mpg. This way only 2 videos would fit on each DVD while I know that 4 can easily fit.

So I'm kinda lost here, my computer has been on for like 3 days converting avi's to iso's, avi's to vob's, avi's to mpg's and I haven't been able to burn anything.

I've also downloaded tons of diferent programs [TMPGEnc, and the authoring one, (which doesn't support subtitles), AVI2DVD, ConvertXtoDVD, DVDSanta, DVD-Lab, IFOEdit...] so I'm open to any suggestion... I've also read thousands of tutorials from here, from videohelp and from other sites... I'm about to give up and return my dvd r/rw to the store because this is giving me a lot of headaches.

I only need someone who can point me to the right direction...
[bold]4 AVI files > 1 DVD + subtitles (optional if possible, but at this point I'd settle with anything!)[/bold]

***eta: If possible too... I'd like to make Menu's, as there would be 4 videos on the same dvd.***

    Thanks in advance...

your best bet is to convert each file so you have a seperate VIDEO_TS folder for each and then using dvd shrink in reauthor mode, you can add each folder and create your dvd. As long as you were able to convert them with a program that supports subtitles, they will also work with your finished dvd.

open nerovision, use the add button and import all your files into nerovision.you can add menu, songs and chapters.nerovision will reduce your files to fit on a 4.7g dvd disc. nerovision can burn your project to a dvd or to a hard disk.

    [bold]B2D327[/bold] > in VOB's or ISO's?
In the meantime, I'll try with the VOB's, I hope it works, thanks! ♥

[bold]que01[/bold] > That's what I did but it doesn't work. It joins the 3 VOBs from each avi together, and those 3 together take like half of the disc's size.

the VIDEO_TS files will contain .vob, .bup, and .ifo files if converted properly.

nero will leave a video_ts folder, use dvd shrink to reduce the size and put it onto a dvd disc.
