Hi and thanks ahead of time for any help!

I am new to all this and just learning so please speak slowly so I can understand as I am a little slow when it comes to this stuff.

I have a v1.1 xbox and I am trying to "mod" it.

    I purchased these 3 items:
-Xapt3r Xecuter 3 Solderless Adapter compatible with v1.0-1.5
    -Xbox Xecuter 3 CE ModChip
    -Platinum 200GB Hard Drive Combo

I searched and searched for info how to install and use these items but I think I have confused myself more than anything. Too much info from too many places and got lost trying to keep track of it all.

So far I removed the solder from the holes on the motherboard
and then installed the Xapt3r onto the mother board and then powered on and got 4 lights in this config:

    Blue Red

    Blue Blue

I installed the "switch bank" all are pushed to left and connected it to the mod chip

I installed the power switch adaptor and conneted the yellow power switch cable to it and the 2 wire red to the connection next to it and then connected the adaptor to the mother board and the red 2 wire to the connector on the mod chip

I plugged the mod chip onto the adaptor

    I installed the 200gb hdd

I then reconnected the dvd drive

If I just touch the power button quickly the box turns on then off then on then off and then just flashes red/green

If I hold the power button down the box starts to "boot" up and then give me the error screen "05" saying need to contact xbox support. I checked on "chipito's" web site and found that this has something to do with the hdd being unlocked don't know how to fix this either.

I then changed my HDD back the original and hold down the power button and the xbox boots up to the enter time screen.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

    I have read about
    -flashing your bios ......
    -Loading Dashboard......
    -Saving games to HDD
-Connecting xbox to my laptop. My laptop is wifi in my home I have a wireless router srx200 linksys can I just plug my xbox into my ethernet jack on my laptop?

As you can see I don't know much about software needed or exactly what is wrong with my install so please help.

    Thanks
    Scott

this has to do with a bad connection on the motherboard 2 wires touching eachother or anything like that make sure your chip is in right....

I have moved, adjusted, moved, and wiggled the xapt3r probably 100 times now. I have tried every combination on switch bank and I know DO is correct. Dont know what else to do.

alright the fifth switch on the external bios board is also a flash protection switch...i would turn the switch on the chip on..and use the external switch to turn flash protection on/off see if this works...
